About
THERE’S SPIRIT IN OUR OWLS!
The Spiritual Life Council at KSU seeks to function in an educational capacity, not only for those students and groups who are traditionally spiritual or religious, but by way of raising ethical questions and issues of value and character among the University community at large. Because the University seeks to educate the “whole person”, we view ethical and spiritual formation as integral to the University’s overall educational mission and spiritual life as an important dimension of the so-called hidden curriculum of the University. Therefore we seek to integrate the programs and services offered by the chaplains and faith-based member organizations into the larger life of the University community.
The Council is currently comprised of “affiliate chaplains” who serve the University community on behalf of a verified religious institution, and University Faculty and Staff. In the future we hope to also include student representatives on the council.
We sponsor two Main Events at KSU every year and several smaller programs.
